Canyon Country California
This lovely community is located 30 miles north of Los Angeles and 40 miles east of the Pacific Ocean in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Valley was formed in an inverted triangle with the San Gabriel and Santa Susanna mountain ranges separating it from the San Fernando Valley. The community – which is part of the city of Santa Clarita – is home to some 55,000 residents who enjoy good schools, a relaxed lifestyle, safe family-friendly neighborhoods and many recreational opportunities. Students in grades K-12 are served by the Sulphur Springs Union and William S. Hart School districts. The schools in Santa Clarita all rank above average and are a big area attraction. Santa Clarita schools have been honored five times with national Blue Ribbon Honors and 26 times with California Distinguished Schools Honors. The local College of the Canyons and several nearby colleges and universities serve those who wish to attain a degree in higher education. Industries that provide employment in the area include educational, health and social services, manufacturing, professional, scientific, management, administrative and waste management services and retail trade. Entertainment in Santa Clarita includes Castaic Lake Recreation Area, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor and Mountasia Family Fun Park. The area’s major shopping is provided by the Town Center Mall in Valencia. Town Center is home to several major department stores, fine restaurants and a wide selection of specialty shops. Real estate options in Canyon Country consist of single-family detached homes, condominiums, townhouses and land lots.
